Office Hours - Winter (Labor Day to Memorial Day):
                           Monday-Friday: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

                           Summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day):
                           Monday-Thursday: 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


The Street Department routinely combines forces with Water and Sanitary Sewer Utility Departments in the City to form the Public Works Department.  The Street Department is responsible for maintaining the City’s streets, sidewalks, curbs, storm sewers and trees in the City. Our duties include:

  • Maintain streets, alleys and residential sidewalks
  • Maintain storm water drainage (culverts, ditch lines and street drains)
  • Street & traffic signs
  • Traffic lights
  • Street sweeping
  • Snow plowing, sanding, and snow removal
  • Trim trees and brush to keep streets and sidewalks clear of obstructions
  • Repair potholes, crack sealing and line marking
  • Mow city-owned land and problem areas
  • Spring and fall leaf and brush pickup
  • Storm response
  • Oversee bridge maintenance program
  • Enforcement of weed control ordinance
  • Oversee garbage and recycling program
